One of the most famous and rewarding winter treks in India is the Kedarkantha trek. Known for its remarkable beauty and breathtaking 360-degree view of snow-covered mountain peaks and deep valleys, it is one of the most loved treks in India. This trek is located at an altitude of 12500 feet above sea level in the Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand. The base camp of this trek is at Sanri village and can be covered in 3 days or 2 nights. But in general, trekkers prefer to start from Dehradun and cover the trek in 5 days and 4 nights. On this trek, we start trekking from Sankri village, which is at an altitude of 6397 feet, and go to the maximum altitude of 12500 feet in just 2 days. So it is graded as an easy to medium difficulty level trek with a chance of altitude mountain sickness (AMS). If you are an adventure lover and wish to witness the live snowfall, then late December to early January is the most idle time to visit here. During this time you got to witness the most beautiful landscape completely drenched in white powder snow, making this trek even more beautiful and adventurous.
