Commence your journey with a visit to the iconic Hagia Sophia, an architectural masterpiece that has transitioned from being a church to a mosque and is now a museum.

Next, visit the beautiful Blue Mosque, known for its six minarets and intricate blue tilework. It’s a serene and breathtaking place that will give you a sense of peace and wonder.

And of course, don’t forget to savour the delicious Turkish cuisine.

2. Cappadocia

surreal landscapes of Cappadocia, known for its fairy chimneys, cave dwellings, and hot air balloon rides.

It’s like entering a whole new world, with its distinct rock formations and fascinating historical sites.

Explore the Goreme Open-Air Museum, a UNESCO World Heritage site, featuring a stunning complex of rock-cut churches and monasteries with beautiful frescoes dating back to the Byzantine era, offering a captivating insight into the region’s religious history.

These trails are ideal for a peaceful walk, with numerous hidden churches and cave dwellings to discover along the way.

Witnessing the sunrise from the top of Uchisar Castle is an absolutely breathtaking experience. The view from this ancient fortress is truly unforgettable as you observe the sunrise over the remarkable landscape of Cappadocia.

Watching sunsets is my absolute favourite, especially from the breathtaking view at the top of the castle.

Ah, the hot air balloon rides! Cappadocia is one of the best places in the world for this activity. Floating above the fairy chimneys and valleys as the sun rises is a magical experience that you simply have to try.

The intricate carvings and impressive architecture make it a must-see. The Great Theatre is another highlight, capable of holding 25,000 spectators.

It’s still used today for concerts and performances, making it a living piece of history. Sitting in this ancient amphitheatre, you can almost hear the echoes of gladiators and ancient orators.

Wander through Marble Street and imagine life in ancient times. The well-preserved houses, temples, and public buildings give you a glimpse into the daily life of Ephesus’s inhabitants.
